Each distribution GigaStar pays out covers YouTube (YT) revenue that Creators earned during a specific prior calendar month. It helps to think of these as two different months:
Revenue Month: the calendar month in which the YT revenue was actually earned.
Distribution Month: the calendar month in which GigaStar pays that revenue out to CRT holders, typically around the 25th.
Eligibility for a distribution is based on the Revenue Month, not the Distribution Month, and these two months are always different (the Distribution Month is the month after the Revenue Month).
Who receives the distribution?
To be eligible for a given Revenue Month's YT revenue, you must hold the CRT through the end of that month, meaning before the 1st of the following month begins. Whoever holds the CRT at that point is the holder of record for that Revenue Month and receives the full distribution for it, typically paid around the 25th of the following month (the Distribution Month).
Trading that happens after the Revenue Month ends, including any trades completed before the distribution is actually paid, does not change who receives that distribution.
Example
July 2026 is the Revenue Month. YT revenue earned during July is paid out as a distribution around August 25, 2026, which is the Distribution Month. Whoever holds the CRT at the end of the day on July 31, 2026 is the holder of record for July and receives the full July distribution on the August payment date, even if that CRT changes hands one or more times between August 1 and August 25.
Quick reference
If you buy a CRT at any point during July and still hold it at the end of July 31, you are eligible for the July distribution, paid in August.
If you sell a CRT in August before the distribution is paid, you still receive the July distribution, because you were the holder of record at the end of July. The buyer is not eligible for the July distribution. Instead, they become eligible for the August Revenue Month's distribution, paid in September, as long as they hold through the end of August.
